TNSTC – Villupuram

TNSTC – Villupuram is the public transport bus operator mainly in the districts of  Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Thiruvanamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Pondy (PY). TNSTC – Villupuram was formed with merger of erstwhile  TPTC Thanthai Periyar Transport Corporation, PATC Pattukottai Alagiri Transport Corporation, MGRTC Dr.MGR Transport Corporation.

History:

In 1997 when Tamilnadu government decided to change the name of every corporation to TNSTC. TPTC  became TNSTC – Villupuram Region I, PATC to TNSTC – Villupuram  Region  II, MGRTC to TNSTC – Villupuram  Region  III

A new regional office at Thiruvallur opened for better operations on  Thiruvallur District. and Cuddalore for Cuddalore District.

Registration Nos:  TN – 21, TN – 23, TN – 25, TN – 32.

Operations:

Presently TNSTC – Villupuram operates city buses in important cities  of  Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Thiruvanamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore in TamilNadu and Pondy (PY). It also operates long distance services and Super Deluxe Buses to chennai.

It has the pride of operating  Buses to 4 states in South India Tamilnadu, Pondy, Karnataka and AndhraPradesh. Operations to Bengaluru in KA, Pondy in Pondy, SriKalahasthi, Nellore, Thirupathi, Chitoor in Andhrapradesh., state border villages depends mainly on TNSTC Villupuram Division buses.

  2. i travelled with my family from villupuram to Puducherry today at 06.15 pm through the bus 3263. I took ticket to Villianur – Kottaimedu stop. They did not stop the bus in that stopping. They stopped at the next stop even after reminding them. Conductor said there is no stopping there. I carried my children and heavy bags. The conducted was cracking jokes to the driver and they both were chatting without stopping the bus at the exact stoppage even at kandamangalam, madhakadipet etc. They dont want the passengers to get the bus and they were only dropping the passengers in each stop and start the bus.I request you to take action on this. Am not sure whether this message reaches you. If there is no response for the next two days, i will be writing mail to the CM cell. You can contact me at 99440 25608. Am a HR Trainer.

  4. Sir,
    I am leaving in pathapalayam(vil), near 5 Kms from Gummidipoondi(tk),Thiruvallur(dt),Tamil nadu.
    In my village there is no transport facility’s including share AUTO, so we are straggling. so please arrange me government bus to my village.
    If we call Auto, they asking Rs.120 to that 5Kms. Nearly 40 – 50 school students are walking every day to school 5 Kms. And old ages are difficult to go hospitals and etc..
    It was Gummidipoondi sipcot area route and workers are stragguling to go to there company.

    How/where can I find the timings of departure of this route from Chennai?

    • Joe. No online reservations are available for Chennai to Tiruvannamalai buses. But there are plenty of buses running in this route. You can goto CMBT(Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus) to take a bus to Tiruvannamalai form Chennai.

    Being villupuram a connectivity center there should be buses operated from milligram to important south locations especially in night. Buses coming all the way from chennai is fully loaded and passengers are waiting more than 4 hrs minimum to get a bus.

  12. Asking the TNSTC Vilupuram unit to run buses to Velankanni and Tiruvarur from Villupuram. The service from VILLUPURAM to Velankanni was popular with passengers. Two buses were opeated on this route and earns more revenue. The service of the bus was good so is the crew. I used to go to Mayavaram quite often by the bus. Please again operate buses on the same time.

  13. Last week I went from Katpadi Rly Stn by govt bus route no.1 to Rajeev Gandhi nagar after Officers’ Lines.The bus stop for it was Collector’s bungalow or Circuit house. The conductor said that the bus would not go there.I told him that I went there earlier by the same bus and the names of the govt offices & private premises as Dr Ida Scudder’s grave near it.He still said that the bus would not go there.Another passenger told him where it was. He then gave me a ticket.He said that he was new.I told him that like many conductors who are new to a route he must write von a thick stiff card,the names of stops & stages & the fares till he becomes familiar. I know his name but will not disclose it.It can happen to anyone who is new to a route.

    I was worried if I would miss the bus stop.So I kept looking out through the window bending & straining my back & neck.It was not opened fully. The upper half was covered with advertisements blocking my view. Please insist on advertisements which are with small holes in them which let us see through them. Your company can also earn it’s income.

  26. A driver named ramalingam driving virudachalam bus from kumbakonam(2965) doesn’t have respect or politeness towards the passengers…he treats the passengers as a servent of his house…i request the authorities to take some action on yhis concerned driver and to teach him some responsibility..

Please operate more bus to arakkonam via Nemili ,panapakkam , vellore bus depot last 15 years ,same bus quantity only operate , why not develop that route , if may be collection is very low means , link with long route ,like , connect thiruvallur , perambakkam , thakkolam , kadambathur , poonamalle also link that route , but vellore depot not interested to develop.

  31. Now nemili Town Panchyat upgraded to Taluk , so please operate more town buses to , Nemili to Arakkonam , nemili to sholingur , Nemili to walaja , nemili to cheyyar , Nemili to Kanchipuram , Nemili to anvarthikanpettai & Guruvaraja pettai route .

  32. sir,super deluxe buses operating by the vpm depot is not willing to take the passenger from trichy to Villupuram during Saturday and Sunday especially at night times.setc and kumbakonam depot deluxe buses are ignoring the Villupuram passenger’s but
    vpm depot buses also ignoring vpm passenger’s .so take necessary action on this problem and make deluxe buses available for trichy to Villupuram passengers.

  49. வேலூர் மாவட்டத்தின் கடைக்கோடி நகரமாக அரக்கோணம் இருப்பதால், வேலூர், திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்ட போக்குவரத்துக் கழக நிர்வாகங்கள் சுற்றுவட்டாரப் பகுதிகளை கவனிப்பதே இல்லை. இதனால், அரக்கோணம் நகரையொட்டி இருக்கும் பல்வேறு கிராமங்களுக்குச் செல்ல போக்குவரத்து வசதியின்றி பொதுமக்கள் அவதிப்படுகின்றனர்.

    • Yesterday [27/02/2016] around 17.00 hrs, the bus [ Route No.201 – Chennai – Tirupathi], was plying near Velappan Chavai to Koyambedu in a rash and arrogant manner.The driver abuses all the road users, driving rashly, fast and zig zag just like a bicycle in thick traffic.

      Please counsel driver and give a good training on safe driving. .

    I am leaving in Podatturpettai. many of the persons are catching train at tiruttani and arrakkonam in the morning and return to native in night but most of the time we are unable to catch the bus in time for going to tiruttani and arrakkonam railway station we are suffer very much.   65. On 23.4.2016 I travelled from vellore to Poonamallee by your bus which was marked 1 to 1. Though 4 buses were available the conductor of this bus asked me to get into his bus as there was not even a single passenger. The bus started with 60% capacity passengers. I gave Rs.500 for the fare of Rs.67. To sort out the change issue, I gave Rs.17 also. The conductor gave back only Rs.400 and said would give the balance Rs.50 later. He was seen giving the change of Rs.50 to nearly 4 other passenger who boarded the bus later. At the time of alighting at Poonamalle, I asked the balance of Rs.50. He was wondering Rs.50?. Then he reluctantly asked to give Rs.50 so that he would give rs.100. Had I been able to give that initially I would have given it, I told him. Then he gave Rs.100 to an entirely stranger and asked me to get Rs.50 from him & asked me to get down. I insisted him to give my money. But the conductor called me by my religion and with mean words he slapped on my neck and pushed me down from the bus.
    Is this the way the passengers are to be treated by the so called public servants? What action the passenger requires to take against these rogues? Will be transport administration taken action against this rogue conductor?

  66. Respected Sirs, I want to know that our busses of Trichy, Salem, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Palani, Coimbatore have a stopping at Kurinjipadi Bus stand during night time. Some times in days those are passing through the buypass road. During night times they are passing through buy pass. It is so inconvenient for public. I have also such experience when travelled with family. Sorry for the distrubances. I would like point out that the tickets are issued for Kurinjipadi but they are passing through buy pass. It is one km from buy pass stopping to Bus stand. We are suffering so much.     When we planned returned to Kancheepuram from Thirupathi, after Dharshan at Thirupathi Venkateswara Temple on 16/07/2016, the Conductor who was incharge on the day for the above bus was refused to entry to the Bus and he said that will not go to Kancheepuram, but in the display board, the route has been clearly mentioned as via Kancheepuram. We are not able to understand his statement. His attitude and behavior are worst and he was treating us as animal. His attitude not only against us but also all the passengers who were enquired about the stop of Kancheepuram and etc.,

    My humble question as follows:
    if the display board mentioned via Kancheepuram, then why the conductor not allowed to entry in the bus, have you given any instruction in this regards

    If it would not stopped at Kancheepuram, you may mentioned the bus as “Point to Point”

    Is this rout number comes under the category “Non- stop Bus”, then display is need to be changed

    I will not expecting this kind of attitude from your corporation and if it is continue, the name will be spoiled accordingly.

    I am feeling bad while writing this complaint against the bus conductor of Tamil nadu transport – Villupuram Depo… Today date is 2nd Aug 16, I was waiting at cuddalore bus stand for Chennai bus @ 10.00PM.At that time I saw that cuddalore to Chennai bus arrived but it’s a bypass rider (I,e Via Pondy, Tindivanam, Chennai), but I felt travelling Via ECR will be good..so i get in to the bus and plan to get down in Pondy,after will go for ECR rider like.. Once bus starts moving out from cuddlore bus stand at 10.10 PM , conductor came to me Named Mr.Gunasekaran Employee No:3242. and asked to get ticket , I gave him Rs.100/- But he asked me the change of RS.14/-.i said I am having all of RS.100/- only and gave Rs.4/- also.. But he replied that I am not having change any more to give so he forced me to get down from the bus at next stopping due non availability of change for Rs.100/-.Is it the way that conductor act and replies to the public.. Requesting you to take immediate action against that conductor for such irregular activity with public.

I have compliant on shollinganallur to vellore service. today (16.02.2017) Thursday myself and 10 plus passenger’sboarded into tss bus at 7.15 tambaram sanatorioum, I asked ticked for sriperumbudur the conductor didn’t provide the ticket to the destination and said it won’t go sriperumbudur today due some traffic bus late 30 mins this is the reason simply he is giving and asked us to get down from the bus and told us to go in local bus. Is TSS service available only for vellore passenger’s not for sriperumbudur customers. so please take the necessity action and ask those driver and conductor to go into sriperumbudur

Its horrible that busses are not drenched fully in normal rain, people have to sit inside the bus with umbrella or rain coat.Kindly increase quality of Tamil Nadu buses.

  127. Sir,most of the time night travellers felt so uncomfortable because no frequent buses are arranged. Today 14/08/17 I want to travel from kallakurichi to Chennai I went there bus stand by 11.00 pm there are no buses operated from kallakurichi to Chennai. The most of the working people prefer this time to travel but there are no buses there only buses from Salem to Chennai only pass via through this route which is also already filled from Salem itself. With this most of the students also suffer a lot. More than a 200 people around there most of the families, stustudents and working people waited for more than two hours but no buses operated from kallakurichi depot as I enquired there in depot, they said the next bus is only from 3.30 am untill how they are waiting. I am here not to blame anyone. I am just here tell my view about how people suffer when traveling in night. Take necessary step to arrange bus for night travellers if bus is not available take enough step to buy some new buses if there is no enough drivers and conductors means take enough step to hiring new peoples. I don’t who is going to see this and take enough step but someone who is seeing have authority to do some changes please take enough step to overcame this situation.

  130. Am from Madurantakam. On some peak/festival times, few conductors are not allowing the passengers to get into the bus and saying, this bus will not be stop at Maduranthakam bypass. When do some search, have found a page, it says all type of buses which is operated from Villupuram depot to Chennai has a stop at Maduranthakam bypass and vice versa. Do we have any complaint number or provision to complain about those conductors to make the TNSTC as more friendly public service sector. Really would appreciate if we have any options to report these incidents immediately when it’s happening itself rather than complaining later time.

  134. I travelled with my son to chittoor on Oct 2nd,2017. My son age is 2.8 months. The conductor forced me to buy the ticket for my son which is not at an rule as per my knowledge. Also the ticket fare is rs.47. When compared to last 2 months the price is hiked by rs 6 silently without any news. Can anyone look into this issue.

    இருந்து புறப்படுகிறது அந்த பேருந்தை 8.30 மணிக்கு கிளம்புமாறு
    செய்தால் எங்களுக்கு உதவியாக இருக்கும், புதுச்சேரியிலிருந்து 3
    பேருந்துகள் 8.20,8.30,8.35 நேரங்களில் மரக் கானத்தை அடைகிறது

  140. காட்டுமன்னார்கோவில் பனிமனைக்கு தமிழ்நாடு அரசால் 2018 ம் ஆண்டில் காலாவதியான பேருந்துகளுக்கு பதில் புதிய பேருந்துகள் கொடுக்க இருப்பதால் காட்டுமன்னார்கோவில் பனிமனைக்கு புதிய வழித்தடங்களில் பேருந்துகள் இயக்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்

  144. We are travelling from kanchipuram to chennai from last three years on TN25 N 0236 BUS SERVICE.
    RAIN WATER IS LEAKING EVERY WHERE INCULDJNG DRIVER SEAT.
