TNSTC – Salem

TNSTC – Salem is the public transport bus operator mainly in the districts of  Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri.  TNSTC – Salem was formed with merger of erstwhile  ASTC Annai Sathya Transport Corporation, ATC Anna Transport Corporation.

History:

In 1997 when Tamilnadu government decided to change the name of every corporation to TNSTC. ATC  became TNSTC – Salem Region I, ASTC to TNSTC – Salem  Region  II.

Registration Nos:  TN – 29, TN – 27, TN – 30.

Operations:

Presently TNSTC – Salem operates city buses in important cities  of  Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri in TamilNadu and Borders of Karnataka (KA). It also operates long distance services to many destination of TN

It has the pride of operating  Buses to 3 states in South India Tamilnadu,  Karnataka and AndhraPradesh. Operations to Bengaluru, Mysuru in KA,  Thirupathi, Chitoor in Andhrapradesh.,  state border villages depends mainly on TNSTC Salem Division buses.

    • Eventhough other corporations operates from Kanyakumari, thisenvillai, marthandam, nagerkovil,thirunelvelli. I saw many more routes from kudallur, But tnstc salem failed to operate from Salem to the above destinations. We do not know the reasons.P.Palraj.

      This blog is merely an information blog for TNSTC (which is a very good initiative) and not an official site. This is clearly mentioned in the top of the site. You have to forward your query / request to the official TNSTC office. FYI, I remember seeing a bus from Salem to Kumbakonam via Trichy, Thanjavur.

    • Bus No 15D from Namakkal to Sevinthipatty route never stop at Mettupatty samathuvapuram bus stop @ 7.50 a.m., There are so many school going students awaiting in the bus stop. But the bus never stops there.

  30. sir, On 09.11.15 deepavalli i travelled a tnstc salem johnsonpet depot bus from salem new bustand to Madura,, he i registration
    no Tn 30 – 1131 at 5.00 am from Salem new bus stand. when heavy raining the bus having leakage from the top
    portion.

    while starting we obsorbed the gear shifting lever having no Knob. Everytime the driver felt difficult to change the gears.When we asked the leakage to the conductor, he said throug the Tamil nadu is raining why we asked about
    the leakage.Beacuse of the almost all passengers gets their dresses wet condition.

    After reaching Karur, the gear box having some problem and the gears are not engaged properly.the driver drove the buse almost third gear only and the vehicle having no pick up.At 11.00 am the bus arrived at arrapalyam bus
    stand finally.

    We donot know why Tnstc – Salem operating such type condomed buses. They took fare of Rs.140 to Madurai.

  61. Bus availability is good. But space between seats are not comfortable. Every weekend I used to travel from Bangalore to Salem, 3.33 hour journey. Because of less space between seats, getting leg pain. They have provide some good space between seats, if the travelling time is more than 1 hr. Hope changes will happen.

    This is to bring to your notice that the Bus number TN 29 2621 1-1 nonstop service bus provided by TNSTC From Hosur to Salem on 22nd September people boarded the bus @ 10:00 but the bus started @ 10:41 even then after coming out of bus stand the conductor told that there were no much tickets filled hence they turned back to the bus stand and made people from other bus to board in this and started @11:00 and was stopping in all the stops in the route even though they got tickets of high fare of 1-1 non stop please take necessary action on the conductor and driver

  94. Salem to Jayankondam route via: Attur, Virudhachalam is similar to Salem to Chidambaram. Salem to Jayankondam this route travel time is 4hrs.
    No more buses operated in this route. If there is any services, it will be definitely helpfull and efficient.
    Salem to Kumbakonam route via: Attur, Virudhachalam, Jayankondam is much shorter than other routes operated now.

    நான் கோயம்புத்தூர் இருந்து சேலம் வழியாக சங்ககிரி வந்த நான் மாற்று திறனாளி எனது அட்டை எண u 715 ஆனால் எனக்கு எனது மாற்று திறனாளி பயனசீட்டு தரவில்லை அதற்கு மாறாக எனக்கு அனைவரும் கெடுக்கும் பயனசீட்டு தந்தார் இதனால் எனக்கு ஒரு வேலை உணவு தவிர வேண்டிய அவசியம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.

  107. Sir I want to know whether salem to trichy and salem to karur buses wat to stop in a stop called puduchatram which is inbetween salem and namakkal. Because most of the buses are not stoping in peak hours and at nights. Sir If dont get any proper response I will complain further. Im not threatening any one these are words of my frustration. Thats the way TNSTC Salem is functioning.

    என இரு மார்க்கத்திலையும், புதிய பேருந்து வசதியினை ஏற்படுத்தி தர வேண்டும் என்று தம்மம்பட்டி, செந்தாரப்பட்டி, கெங்கவல்லி சுற்றுவட்டார பொதுமக்கள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர். எனவே சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அதிகாரிகள் நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொண்டு புதிய பேருந்து வசதியினை ஏற்படுத்தி தருமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.

      I have to clarify my doubt with tnstc-salem. No one bus didn’t accept the 10rs coin.. Even other branches accept. But Salem only behave like this..

      Is Tnstc -Salem in out of the country? Or any other special?

  126. Nothing mentioned at Salem bus stand about the bus timings to Udumalpet. But we do 3 services to and fro.
    1. TNSTC (Coimbatore Region II) – Udumalpet to Salem. 8:15 am at Udumalpet.
    2. TNSTC (Coimbatore Region II) – Udumalpet to Hosur. 9:15 am at Udumalpet.
    3. KSRTC – Munnar to Bangalore 8 pm at Udumalpet.

    Kindly let me know the same buses timings at Salem Bus stand.
