one question?
before the operation of jnnurm town buses there were many low-foot-door buses running all through the city.but now they have been altered for the operation in other mofussil routes.instead they could be shared for local operation in other cities like tirupur,pollachi,udumalai..see it should be noticed that often the press points thst many town route buses in those cities were in a bad condition.pls take necessary actions before this matter becomes a big issue..

Moffusil Buses from Tuticorin, Kanyakumari ( Coastal region ) can directly go to Chennai via Ramanathapuram on East Coast Road vice versa instead of going via Madurai and Tiruchi, to ease traffic congestion. This will enable us for a better connectivity to major towns, to move safely, economically and comfortably. This will stimulate growth to the backward areas and to facilitate religious tourism. The Moffusil buses leaving chennai to southern cities causes traffic bottleneck slow traffic movement. Suggest that diversion of buses travelling to coastal region should use ECR route fully rather using the existing route.

If you have no details about TNSTC – KUM, i can provide whichever i know. TNSTC – Trichy (KUM Ltc.) is one of the biggest division in all TNSTC’s which has more than 3000 fleets in it.

Induction of 3,000 buses by January

TIRUCHI: All the 3,000 new buses sanctioned for this year would be inducted into the fleet of the State transport corporations by January, Transport Minister K.N.Nehru said here on Tuesday.

About 400 of the new buses have already been inducted and the remaining would hit the roads soon. The state transport corporation had a total 20,118 buses and over the past four-and-a-half years, 15,000 new vehicles have been inducted into the fleet, Mr.Nehru said speaking at a function to launch new bus routes and distribute promotion and regularisation orders of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Kumbakonam.

Mr.Nehru disclosed that about 13,500 unemployed persons would be imparted heavy vehicle driving through the 20 training schools of the transport corporations in the State as part of the State government’s decision to provide skill development training to unemployed youth. As more buses are added to the transport corporations, these persons would get employment.

The Union government, he said, has granted income tax exemption to the pension fund of the state transport corporations, paving the way for the implementation of the new pension scheme for employees of the corporations.

The Minister also assured that the services of all drivers and conductors in reserve crew would be regularised. The reserve crew were meant to be deployed whenever the regular crew went on leave. These persons were being gradually regularised whenever vacancies arise out of superannuation of the regular crew. Over the past few years, over 45,000 persons have been provided employment. About 5,000 to 7,000 persons in the reserve crew are to be regularised. “Do not have any apprehension about your future. We will regularise the services of all. You have already been given bonus and there will be no job loss to any person,” he said.

Mr.Nehru appealed to the State Transport Corporation employees to ensure the proper maintenance of the buses. He also urged the people to desist from showing their ire against corporation buses. “Whenever there is an agitation for any reasons, buses become the immediate targets. These buses are acquired with public money,” he observed.

Mr.Nehru inaugurated new buses operated in 40 routes and distributed promotion and regularisation orders to 162 persons on the occasion.

Mahesan Kasirajan, Collector, S.Sujatha, Mayor, Anbil Periyasamy, A.Soundarapandian and R.Rani, MLAs, T.Ranagaraj, Managing Director, TNSTC, Kumbakonam, P.Chandrasekaran, General Manager, TNSTC, Tiruchi, and T.T.Balsamy, Corporation Commissioner, were present.

I would like to make it as a point to ensure that you report as Nagercoil (“co” shall be pronounced as “co” in colgate and “il” as “il” in oil)and not Nagarkovil. We in Nagercoil are used to our place being pronounced as Nagercoil(illakkaNapo’li, the beauty of our grammar) instead of Nagarcovil/kovil. The list won’t end if u start spelling places as written in Tamil(Tamizh) like koyampuththoor, vizhuppuram, se’lam, mathurai, thiruppoor,thindukkal, naamakkal, raamanaathapuram and so on. Actually, i feel the spellings got these way how the locals used to pronounce in their own local slang when British came to India.

No hard feelings anyway:-)

I’m in Trichicion’s. I am working in cbe. i had leaving in 8 years from trichy and went to trichy for season time only. If compare than trichy regional buses and coimbatore regional buses, worst maintenance and low pick-up in the rural and urban area in trichy, tanjore, karur, trivarur, etc. Why can’t improve speed (50 km. to 70 km.)in the trichy region buses. because we are suffered in 10 years. dust formed inside in the buses and leakeging problems in raining seasons. please remove the speed control and improve the quality.

IN CERTAIN TIME WE SHOCKED THAT IN TRAVELLING IN PALAR BRIDGE (NEAR MAMANDUR) HE CHANGED GEAR BY ONE HAND AND TALKING CELL PHONE IN OTHER HAND. HE DIDN’T BOTHER ABOUT STEERING.

WE HAD A THRILLED JOURNEY AND WE WERE NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING.

WE SUGGEST TO TNSTC TO FOLLOW STRICTLY ABOUT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL DRIVERS TO SWITCH OFF THEIR MOBILE PHONES/ OR NOT TO TALK WHILE DRIVE.

ACCIDENTS ARE NOT HAPPENING; THEY WERE MADE BY THE MISTAKE OF SOMEONE WHO CARELESS.

From oddanchatram bus stand there is a regular bus service to chennai.. we r provided with air bus.. the problem is that during the season time ( Peak days ) Bus wont come and they state that bus under repair.. On that day we have found that bus coming from chennai.. We dont know the reason why they are telling the hell reply to us..

and also ther is no online counter.. Some black sheep from ur dept utilising that facility…. The ticket booking will start by 10 AM on every day , for that days travel.. I used to be the 1 st person to go there to get the ticket.. He started the number from 21 and ends with 36 and states that ticket over. But later collecting extra amount or higher recommendation they r filling the remaining 20 seats.. So Ordinary people like us suffering a lot.. We r approaching the govt bus since omni bus demanding high fare..

So pls do necessary steps to open ONLINE reservation counter … Dindigul and palani are municipality having the online facility.. But oddanchatram is the municipality that dont have online booking.. And also ther is no place for ticket reservation.. The man who gives TOKEN will wander the bus stand , We the people have to find them and get the TOKEN . So sir, Pls take necessary steps to solve our problem and do us the favour.

I am doing business in thrissur(kerala). weekly once I travel thrissur to palani A KSRTC bus start from thrissur at 12.40pm. .TNSTC bus time 1.00pm .Time gap is very less so TNSTC bus is empty So , if TNSTC is delayed and started for 1.15hours and started at 2.15pm in thrissur.it will be useful for the passenger. TNSTC will also benefit from the new timing.

I would like to get your opinion or advise about the following. I am planning to travel to tirupati with my family in SETC from Madurai. I have 2 choices – either Ultra deluxe from Nagercoil or A/C coach from Madurai.
Since it will be a 12 hour journey, I am very particular in selecting the bus. Kindly advise which depot bus among the above mentioned 2 is better maintained – in terms of performance, neatness etc., so that I can select the bus based on your suggestions.

  We have UD and AC buses running from madurai. Few UD buses pass via madurai. Madurai-Thirupathi also has UD and AC servies starting from madurai itself. Sencottah-Thirupathi, Nagercoil-Thirupathi and Thiruchendur-Thirupathi runs via madurai. All these three buses takes 3 different routes. IMO Madurai-Thirupathi AC bus looks better and neatly maintained by Madurai SETC depot(Havent used it, but saw this bus many times at MIBT).
  
  Timings:
  6:35 PM(AC) via Vellore, Chitoor
  8:00 PM, 9:00 PM(UD) via Vellore, Chitoor
  4:30 PM(UD) –> Timings of this got changes i think. Check it..
  6:15 PM(UD) –> Via Kanchipuram.. Starts from Nagercoil.
  
  Note: Except the buses starting from madurai, all others are converted to new 12M buses and they have very less leg space compared to the Madurai’s AC bus.

Apparently I had to cancel the ticket online only. By the time I tried, the website said I was past the journey time and could not cancel.

For the last one week I have been trying to cancel the ticket with no luck. Off the 2 phone numbers listed one is for online ticket issues and other is for general. The former says that they cannot help in cancelling and the latter is always busy or out of order. No replies when I email them either.

Is there anything we can do?

I should have googled before buying. My mistake.

I argued with the conductor to stop the bus in Murugan Mills, He used bad words on me. I was shamed and got depressed while other passengers are staring at me. And he used to stop the bus on next stop Saibaba Kovil. I was hurried to my computer class which starts 11.00 AM by walking 1km (saibaba kovil to Murugan mills). It is a constant scene in most private buses nowadays.I request the RTO authority to take up grievance of this nature and take strict action the buses who operate against the laid down norms and take necessary action regarding this issue so that he will not repeat this mistake again. Also bus owners,please have some code of conduct for the employees to behave properly during their service, it will help the general public.

When he refuse to do double duty he was threatened by the officials (Controller and Branch Manager) as “in future no duty will be given to you becareful”, etc. Next, when he takes casual leave by obtaining controller signature, branch manager was not accept his leave and put absent in the attendance (Revenge) and as usual no duty will be given to him wantedly. One day he was asked by the controller to come early around 6.00 AM to take trip. My husband wake at 4’o clock and went. when i make call to him around 11.00 AM, he said they did’nt give any duty. He is wait, wait , wait there and finally he returned to him. On the way through his mobile, they asked to take 10’clock bus. Since the whole day without duty will be treated as leave, he accept and attend duty. See, usually the driver for night driving has to take atleast two hours rest in sleep, but he wake up early morning and there is no rest for whole day. again he can not take rest, without rest he completes his trip. Do you know that night there is an another person without sleeping, it’s me. I loss my peaceful sleep for the past one year. Please save my husband.

Even tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Tuticourin are having each two depots in their districts and one more depot in thiruvanathapuram. When ever we go for long journey we are facing lot of struggle to board the buses which are starting from southern districts and passing through our districts, because they never allowed to board in that buses even that buses having lot of vacant seats. There are three major National highways are passing through our district.

Compared to other southern districts we can strongly notify that our district having many industries , but still lake of transporatation facilities.

Govt must understand our virudhunagar district’s people situation, and take necessary steps and immediately set up a seperate SETC depot in our district head quarter (VIRUDHUNAGAR) and operate long route buses from Virudhunagar, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Srivilliputhur, Aruppukottai, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Kamuthi, Thiruchuli, Narikudi and sayalkudi.

Virudhunagar is also having a useless New bus stand , So, SETC management don’t worry about location of the depot. and Virudhunagar is the Centre place of the district it is more suitable for SETC maintenance and workshop depot.

The toilets were absolutely filthy and the ‘restaurant’ was miserable, with high-priced food. Why can’t all the government buses halt at the government bus stands for 10 minutes. At least there will be more eating options? Is there an email for the officer concerned to whom I can complain?

1. Route Numbers from 1 to 199 will be allotted to City (Town) Routes.
2. Route Numbers from 200 to 234 will be allotted to Chennai Routes.
3. Route Numbers from 235 to 379 will be allotted for the express routes inside the districts. Big districts have 5 numbers each. Small districts have 4 numbers each.
4. Routes from 380 to 999 will be allotted for the express routes between divisions.
