TNSTC Tirunelveli 234 Valliyoor Kuthenkuli

Kuthenkuly or Kuthenkuli is a village in Tamil Nadu, India. It is in the Radhapuram taluk of Tirunelveli district. It gets it name from Kuthen which means the Hindu god Shiva who does Kazhi Nadanam or cosmic dance. After the period of St Francis Xavier in 1542, many of the inhabitants converted to Catholicism. This village is belongs to Tuticorin Diocese. The occupation of the majority people living in the village is fishing. Kuthenkuli has a famous Roman Catholic church with the name of St.Catherine ( kitheri ammal koil). Total surrounding village people will celebrate the festivel of St.Cathorine which is called Kitheriammal.
