Spy shots of SETC’s largest depot in Tamilnadu (Madurai)
Largest depot of SETC in terms of fleet 116 nos. Main revenue of the depot is from Madurai-Chennai route. Longest route operated by this depot is Rameshwaram-Bangalore via Trichy. It does the trip as Madurai-Rameshwaram-Trichy- Bangalore – Trichy – Rameshwaram – Madurai. one more short lived long distance was Madurai – Mangalore via Erode, Sathy, Mysore, Madikeri. the bus had to travel long 18hrs and due to poor patronage the management has been forced to stop that service.
Inspite of heavy competition from private operators in Madurai – Chennai route, this depot is performing well by operating buses at correct time and specials depends on crowd so people preferred choice is SETC for low fare and safe journey.
This Depot should start new services to Kozhikode, Mysore, Hyderabad with upcoming new buses.
