CM flags off 414 buses


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today flagged off 333 new buses and 81 refurbished buses at the Kodanadu Camp Office in Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu.

An official release here said the Chief Minister, in a symbolic gesture, handed over the keys for seven vehicles to the drivers.

She also handed over cheques to 5151 retired transport corporation employees totalling Rs 154.26 crore comprising pension, gratuity and severance pay.

In a symbolic gesture, four retired transport corporation employees were handed over the cheques for the retirement benefits.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated new buildings of the Raod Transport Engineering College located in Erode District of Tamil Nadu.

This included a building for the computer science department with all modern facilities, spread over 15,392 sq ft and costing Rs 1.16 crore besides a 12,917 sq ft hostel building for post-graduate students costing Rs21.11 lakh.
