TNSTC begins special service

Staff Reporter

Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has commenced operation of special bus service from Tirupur to various destinations in the State on Wednesday to ease the passenger congestion during Pongal.

The TNSTC General Manager (Tirupur region), K. Selvaraju, told The Hindu that the special service would continue till the early hours of Sunday. About 150 buses regrouped from depots at Palani, Kangeyam, Dharapuram, Tirupur, Palladam and Udumalpet, all falling under Tirupur region, had been pressed into service to ensure that 300 trips were made every day from Tirupur city.

Mr. Selvaraju said that buses heading towards Madurai, Theni, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Salem and Nagercoil were being operated from the Old Bus Stand, while the services to Tiruchy and Karur areas were run from the New Bus Stand.

A special team under the Deputy Commercial Manager of TNSTC had been formed to ensure timely operation of special services from the two bus stands.

Meanwhile, police had beefed up security at both the bus stations to prevent chain-snatching, eve-teasing and-pick pocketing.

Policemen in mufti had also been put at places across the city where the congregation of people were more during the festival.

iam really happy that tirupur region special services iwant to know that whether all depots in unity or not there is no uniform indications for tirupur region buses because tirupur branch 1 buses not having any region name tirupur 2 branch buses indicating only tirupur in depot name they not writing as tup 2 why this much of confusions in administration in starting itself

I am a student of K.S.R college .I wish to put forward the following inconvenience happened to me while traveling in our bus from tirupur to udumalpet, regarding using my laptop while traveling in the bus.
I am pressurized by your conductor to pay the amount for the luggage. He mentioned that the standing rules of TNSTc says that my own use laptop is also included in luggage list .I am very much shocked to hear the rules where as i pay the amount for the luggage to avoid a quarreling in the crowded bus.I also mention here that our government has announced free laptops for ongoing students of schools and colleges .There is a big question raising in my mind whether all the laptops of students carrying their laptops will have to pay the amount for everyday / every trip.
HERE I EXPECT YOUR FRUITFUL DECISION REGARDING THIS LUGGAGE QUERY

    TIRUPUR-UDUMALPET (7.00PM TO 9.00PM) THE BUS NUMBER IS TN 38 5145
    date (26.8.2011)
