TNSTC – Coimbatore
TNSTC – Coimbatore is the public transport bus operator mainly in the districts of Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Nigiri’s. TNSTC – CBE was formed with merger of erstwhile Cheran transport corporation, Jeeva Transport Corporation and Bharathiyar Transport corporation
History:
Cheran Transport corporation(CTC) was incorporated on 17.02.1972 after taking over buses from Anamalais Bus Transport(ABT-Coimbatore). It also got buses from other 19 operators from Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Erode districts. Later CTC was splitted and Jeeva Transport corporation(JTC) having erode as headquarters. CTC was looking after Coimbatore(United) and Niligiris districts. Later Cheran was splitted and Mahakavi Bharathiyar transport corporation for formed having Udhagai(Ooty) as headquarters.
Cheran, Jeeva and Mahakavi bharathiyar were later merged to for TNSTC-Coimbatore. Currently Cheran and Bharathiyar were merged to form TNSTC-CBE(Coimbatore) region and Jeeva is named as TNSTC-CBE(Erode) region.
Tirupur region was formed on 17-Dec-2010 by taking the Tirupur district based depots from Coimbatore and Erode regions along with two Palani depots.
Registration Nos: TN38, TN43, TN33 and TN39
Operations:
Presently TNSTC-CBE operates city buses in three important industrial cities (Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur) of Tamilnadu. It also operates long distance services from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Mettupalayam, Pollachi, Gopi, Sathy to Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Pondichery, Thiruchendur, Marthandam, Sengottai, Guruvayoor, Hassan etc.,
It also got 240 SLF buses through JNNURM fund for Coimbatore city.
Body Building Units:
Coimbatore region has its body building unit at Pollachi. This body building unit was earlier known as Cheran engineering corporation. CEC was also formed after taking buses from ABT. CEC has main unit at Good Shed Rd, Pollachi. FC for the buses are done at Pollachi and Udumalpet units.
Tamilnadu Fire service Trucks are built at Udumalpet and Pollachi body building units.
Erode region’s Body building unit is located at Pallipalayam.

TNSTC – Coimbatore has more hill riders than any other corporation in TN. It runs Hill riders mainly in Pollachi-Valparai and Nilgiris district. These hill riders were built with AL 9M chasis.

i always admire the tstc-coimbatore bus services.i hate the plan ie. to split the erode division from coimbatore,if it is done the fleet strength will decrease to a huge extent.tirupur disrrict will be very much affected because all the profit will go to tstc-erode as most of tirupur”s coverage is under erode.pls drop the plan.take it as a request.
jnnurm buses are welcomed.but the thing is they should thoroughly cleaned well everyday.take action on thepassengers if they make the bus dirty.
care should be taken while painting the buses. select differentattractive colours.buses will lookpretty than the private concerns.

I really like TNSTC – CBE (Erode division) in terms of its fleet maintenance, service and providing connectivity. This division will always give preference to connect cities that are not connected till date thus creating success stories as a role model to a great extent. I expect them to continue the same!

Since there is no TNSTC, KMU I’m posting my comments here.
I really like TNSTC – KMU (Trichy division) in terms of its stickers and providing connectivity to a big city with a growing town in its juridiction. Few routes would be like:
Chennai – T. Palur (A place in Ariyalur District nearby Jayamkondam)
Chennai – Thanjavur via Ariyalur (Gives frequent bus services between Chennai & Ariyalur)
Jayamkondam – Coimbatore/ Tiruppur/ Madurai/ Palani
Thuraiyur – Coimbatore/ Tiruppur/ Madurai/ Palani
Musiri – Madurai (Via Kulithalai, Manapparai, Thuvarankurichi & from there NH45B to Maduari)
Thuvarankurichi – Chennai/ Thanjavur/ Palani via Manapparai &
Tiruppur (via Natham, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Dharapuram)
If you notice, the connectivity from town is to the nearby city and from there to the major city. The buses from Jayamkondam/ Thuraiyur come to Trichy and proceed from there to Coimbatore/ Tiruppur/ Madurai/ Palani, thus avoiding empty runs in any section. This gives amazing connectivity and also helps in the growth of the town into a city.
Recently, TNSTC, MDU also started giving such connectivity as below.
Usilampatti – Nagapattinam (Maduari, (NH45B) Trichy, (NH67) Thanjavur, Tiruvarur)
Usilampatti/ Peraiyur – Chennai

Iam very much happy about to see the new buses under jnnurm scheme to all the routes.But in some long distance also tnstc used this buses like to coimbatore-karur, CBE to Madurai.In this routes it will take hardly 6 hrs journey.But in Jnnurm buses seats are designed as what we have in local routes which is not fit for long travel.Passengers will get back pains and feel discomfort throughout the journey.so please do necessary steps to modify this.

you concerns are good. Even i thought we can have a separate TNSTC regions for tirupur having Tirupur, Palladam, Kangeyam, Dharapuram and one depot in palani. CBE and Erode region can handle the rest. Not sure whether authorities thought about this.

Are you sure that every Buses runs in Coimbatore-Palakkad route for every one hour? Running time comes around 1 to 1.5 hrs and every 10 min there is a bus between Coimbatore and Palakkad. Buses starts from Ukkadam BS. From Palakkad buses starts from Palakkad KSRTC BS. In both the BS, queue system is followed in all important days when crowd is more.

We need separate Bus Depot for Avinashi ( Which is central town in between three major corporations Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode ). More over near by villages are connected by town bus only, for that separate depot must be given for AVINASHI.

The CTC Bus starting from Ukkadam to Muthukoundanoor is not comming regularly in the morning 7.50AM trip (from Ukkadam) and in the evening 4.15PM trip (from Muthukoundanor. Because of this problem many Teachers going in that are not able to attend the School in time.So kindly take necessary action to run the bus in time.

coaches are built not only in pollachi but also in udumalaipettai.there is one coach building center at udumalaipettai….pollachi station is busy everyday in building and suppling fire extinguishing coaches all over tamilnadu….,.

Udumalpet coach building unit builds more fire vehicles compared to Pollachi unit. Pollachi unit is busy in building new bus bodies and maintaining the older buses for FC. FC works for TNSTC-CBE CBE region are done at udumalpet and Pollachi workshops.

I’m not sure Erode region has any separate body building unit. They may share the design across regions(i.e., CBE and Erode) within same divisions.

during my journey from tirupur to udumalai,the conductor told me that on january 1 st of 2011tirupur division is to be partitioned from coimbatore division(like the erode div)….is that true?he also told that palani,dharapuram,kangayam,avinashi(new) depots will also be merged with that new unit.
I want to know whether palani depot belong to erode or cbe region…i could see both 33 and 38 registration buses halted at palani depot.

even i too read the news in a daily. Presently TNSTC-CBE has 2 depots in palani. Erode region has one depot and CBE region has one depot. CBE region handles buses mainly to CBE, POY, MTP, PLKD, GVR, CBE-Theni/DGL routes etc., Erode region handles buses to Tirupur/Sathy/SLM/Erode etc., Heard that both these depots will be merged to Tirupur region. Need to wait until the official announcement comes. But they can retain Coimbatore region’s palani depot with Coimbatore region itself and Erode region depot alone can be transferred to new Tirupur region.

i saw a TNSTC CBE bus, which is running between thanjavur and tirupur kangeyam depot. three new tirupur buses are coming to kumbakonam. other two buses are like normal express buses. but one bus is like setc, it has only front entrance near to driver. no back entrance. all corporations may introduce this type of express buses, it will be comfort for long distance journey.

It is a very happy news to the persons like me who always think about new depot to Avinashi which has a wide opportunities to operate in all the villages in and around of Avinashi. More over the overload in Tirupur depots will be avoided. One more important thing is Uthukkuli & Kunnathur are part of Avinashi Taluk, are not well connected with Avinashi for coming to the Taluk office works and other civil works which are also be solved. I will be the most happiest person if a new AVINASHI DEPOT is formed.

That might be the post box number or registered address number. For madurai it is 189/MDU, For Vilupuram it is 19/VPM, For Kumbakonam it is 454/TAJ(Tanjore)

Gobi-Kunnathur-Perumanallur-Avinashi-Coimbatore (LSS) 3. Gobi-Nambiyur-Avinashi-Coimbatore (Normal). Since other than peak hours, “Anthiyur-Gobi-Nambiyur-Avinashi-Coimbatore” route buses are operating with less seat capacities from Avinashi to Coimbatore and from Coimbatore to Avinashi. The above modification will solve the issue , at the same time will increase the trips by Two more singles.

Kumbakonam is part of Tanjore district. So they are mentioning it as “454/TAJ”. Trichy, Kumbakonam, Karaikudi are separate regions inside TNSTC-Kumbakonam division. So they used to write their region name in the front glasses and TNSTC-Kumbakonam(Division name) in the side body.

In NH-47,most of the erode division buses(depoted at erode mofussil-(em)1,em-2,em-3,andhiyur,bhavani,perundurai)often written as by-pass rider(SALEM-COIMBATORE) or express,pp,1 to 5 service(ERODE-COIMBATORE)take the journey to inner villages leaving away the by-pass road.They always make their stops at chengapally,pallagoundampalayam,vijayamangalam……..but they charge the usual express charge…then whats the difference between an ordinary mofussil and en express?erode division really irritating the passengers….the real astonishing thing is all buses running in the same route and under the care of tnstc-salem(depoted at jaheerkhanpet,erumapalayam) and tnstc-coimbatore(depoted at uppilipalayam)are taking the by-pass route and thus they are time and money saving…….
Will the authorities of tnstc-coimbatore(erode division)look into this matter?

Tnstc Tirupur region has got some new town buses(2011 model) as introduced in coimbatore….I have spotted two…They are running between
100-(Circled route)-Tirupur-Avinashi-Perumanallur-Tirupur

But there are still many dubba buses running in this region, often making rattling sound and looking very nasty ….Hope they ‘ll be thrown out this year…

Tnstc erode division buses are super in external attraction,but BUSES IN NAMBIYUR BRANCH ESPECIALLY ANTHIYUR-COVAI ROUTE TOTAL WASTE in the same branch they introduced new buses in other routes such as
salem-tirupur,madurai-tirupur-trichy they are adamant because of collection.if you are asking to the official they said there is no other way to travel only these buses collection is a no longer issue.even 8 buses operated by anthiyur branch that too old.this is partiality and their policy.

The express busses are not comfortable to travel. The seats are arranged only for two and half persons out of three and not able to keep the leg comfortable because of the front seat has been very closely builded. Comparing to Kerala & Karnataka buses they have charged extra but we can travel in normal buses comfortable. TNSTC is too worst for long journey and their aims is only for collecting the money from passengers.,

today morning we travelled(3persons) in bus no 100 from ganapathy maanagar to gandhipuram carrying geaser along with which may weigh about 3-4kg under ticket no NQX-23-034560,61,62.I was charged a lugagge of rupees 4 as per the ticket no ZEB-22-059087 and 059088(2rps ticket).usually if we carry an article the charges for the lugagge will be charged either equal to ticket fare or less than it .this is for your information.

I living at near palladam. the tnstc town buses are servicing towards around villages of palladam. the route of town buses has one terminal are palladam and other terminal is mainly small village. For example, 30,30A,23(pvt) (palladam br) buses are operated from tirupur, palladam via to puliampatti in regular intervel. the one of the terminal of pulimpatti not perfect I think. Otherwise, kamanaicken palayam nearest juction, 4.5 km from puliampatti. if these buses take the terminal as kamanaicken palayam, the commuters of puliampatti can travel by these buses to kamanaicken palayam and will take conection buses to go pollachi, senjerimalai, vadambacheri , covai , somanur and anywhere they want . But now, they can use these buses only to go palladam. so, in future, all of the town buses need its departure and arrival terminal will be end a main road villages. Both terminals will be conectivity concerning to go other direction operating buses. ( pls study http://www.public transport.comsg.)

You are correctly said, It happens in more of the villages. I too have examples in Avinashi Area. So the Govt should take initiative to solve this kind of problems. For example, In Avinashi, so many buses returned with Avinashi Bus stand it self , it can be extened till Sevur for the benefit of Avinashi Town side people as Avinashi town extends till Soolai. So every body benefited. We didnt have the exact timings. But frequency is <30 min. You can visit Singanallur BS to catch the buses bound to trichy. TNSTC-Coimbatore and Kumbakonam(Trichy region) is the main operators in Coimbatore-Trichy route. In the night time Super Deluxe buses are operated to Trichy by Trichy region.

Coimbatore – Madurai frequency is around 10-15 min after 6 PM. You can visit Singanallur BS to catch the bus. There is one Coimbatore-Thiruchendur AC bus from TNSTC-Covai. It starts around 10 PM from Gandhipuram City BS. If it is weekdays you will get a seat in this. Fare is around Rs.185.

Kodaikanal bus from Coimbatore(Ukkadam) starts around 10.00 AM. It actually starts from Mettupalayam.
There is no service in Kodaikanal to Ooty route. You can catch the Mettupalayam bus from Kodai and you have plenty of services running to Ooty from Mettupalayam. Or else you can catch a palani bus from kodai and take a coimbatore/Mettupalayam bus from Palani. Then you can catch a ooty bus from CBE/Mettupalayam.

for catching buses to udumalpet from coimbatore, you have to goto Ukkadam BS. from there you can catch a direct bus to Udumalpet or catch a palani bus and get down at udumalpet. In coimbatore, we have bus stands at Gandhipuram(Town, Moffusil and SETC), Singanallur(For Madurai, Trichy bound buses), Ukkadam(For Pollachi, Udumalpet, Palani and Palakkad bound buses), Mettupalayam road new BS(mainly for Ooty and mettupalayam bound buses).

yes. you are correctly said, SLF services is the new way find out for robbery from poor and middle class people by government and tnstc. double fare plus one rupee is charged then ordinery servises. Government and tnstc are decided that all the people are rich who living in corporation region.why they collect these type of fares?
Fare high is needed one, everyone must welcomed. but SLF fare have been high too. It shows too much. A poor could not use these buses. Because, first two km, 7 rupee will charged that idicates Rs3.50 per km,and, to travalling upto 10 km, We shall pay per km Rs.2.25(4km),Rs.1.50(6km),Rs.1.15(8km).and, Rs1.10(10.km). Is this town bus fares?
Now a days, tnstc have been converting every routes as SLF slowly.For example, GANTHIPURAM- MARUTHAMALAI (70),SOMANUR-UKKADAM(90,90A). There are no ordinery services! 95% services operating as SLF.In future, all the routes may become as SLF…

I have noticed that only one or two passengers travel from thrissur to guruvayur (25km) in both the ways. Onward and return travel consists of 50km for a trip. For 12 buses it is 600km . that means 120litres of diesel which costs of Rs.5160 .I deeply so I would suggest that SETC&TNSTC should audit the income from this particular route for at least one month and stop the service if necessary.
One day lass for Rs.5160.00 .
One month lass for 30*5160= Rs. 154800.00
one year lass for =Rs.1857600.

Transport officers in karumathampatti Branch concentrate only on operating SLF,LSS,EXPRESS buses and mostly avoid ordinary buses.so change our area buses into EXPRESS or LSS to keep a transport facility for village people.

Ayyan Kovil – Gandhipuram Via Madhapur Moffushell Bus had been stopped after the change of the government. Its now operated from Coimbatore to Thiruchy. For the past we had ten singles for coimbatore. Now we have only one single to coimbatore from this bus. We have sent so many requests to karumathampatti branch and head office. They arranged TN33N1359(30H)from Sulur to somanur in morning instead going for ukkadam. We satisfied with this but there is need of transport facility for evening and late evening time,i.e. additionally 3 trips from somanur to sulur for college and school students and public. Further we have got request letter from MLA sulur taluk and Chairman of sulur and submitted on Karumathampatti Dippo and head offfice. Please consider this issue and take right action for the public need. Atlast Operate a EXPRESS or LSS in this route rather than ordinary buses.

Not all Chennai-Coimbatore buses goes via erode. Almost all buses from Coimbatore goes to Chennai via Salem only.

At Tiruchi road, karanampettai juction, which is importent juction since that have four way location wise somanur,kamanaicken palayam, palladam, coimbatore roads. All this arounding villages commuters are using the bus services from here. 105,105A,105C,30F,30K(SLF), P7(palladam to sulur) and 19C town buses are operating from here to coimbatore city. But these buses will not have average frequency gap. Some times, all of these buses goes within a hour like a train. Then no services available to long time. For example, upto 11.30am to 12pm, 11:30am 30K, 11:35 30F, 11:45 105, 11:50 19C. All these town buses are going to west direction within half an hour. there is no services till 2:30 pm.this method will not give any profit to commuters and tnstc.. So, pls study the time management, and operate avarage gap between every services. otherwise, the terminus point of sulur aero, if extend to karanampettai (3 kms), it may become very usful to commuters to go for get connection.

I am an engineering student today (22.1.2012) today my younger brothers(vasanth (8th standard)&nithis(6th standard) came from annur to puliyampatti he gave 50 rupees to conductor for ticketing to puliyampatti. condutor gave the ticket (annur mtp-pulliyampatti as 12 rs for 2nos)and my brother asked for change he told to gave 2 rupees change. condutor gave change for 20 and he told brother i gave 50rs but he told only 20rs given by you. after that he scolded by heavy words and both of them came to home by crying i am fully vexed here money doesn’t matter i saw my brothers came home by crying. i wont leave it simply bus it belongs to coimbatore branch bus number TN38N2599

For Palakkad to thiruchendur, shortest route is Palakkad-Pollachi-Palani-Madurai-Tuticorn.
For every 15-20 min(from 5:00 AM till 9.00 PM we have one bus in Palakkad-Pollachi route. Then for every 5 min we have a bus in Pollachi-Palani route. You can also catch a Madurai bus from Pollachi. We had one direct SETC bus to Thiruchendur from Poy, not sure whether that is running or not. Tuticorin has 2 direct bus from Pollachi. Check my Pollachi timings link in the blog for more details. You can also try checking Kozhicode-Kayalapattinam SETC bus. It runs via Palakkad. My guess is, it should cross Palakkad by 10.00-11.00 PM.

I was travelling from Chennai to Trichy by latest Super Deluxe bus from TNSTC-Kumbakonam division…. It was far better than old UDs in SETC and other TNSTCs… Also I saw a Super Deluxe bus to Karaikudi region (no starts with TN-63 N ….) from Chennai looking like an Omni Bus…. All these latest Super Deluxe buses are very well maintained…. Why not TNSTC replace all the old ones with new ones….??? It might take time but still I feel worth effort…. Also why not all TNSTCs built their Super Deluxe buses like that of the Karaikudi region one mentioned above rather than the normal outlook….???

I living at near palladam. From palladam till karanampettai, there is only one down bus is operating (p7 palladam to sulur) in this route with very low freqquency. several factories and companies are working presently.since the mofsuil buses stops at laksmi mills (K.N.Puram) only, the mass transportation commuters uses to go in above route by auto rickshaws from palladam and karanampettai . So avoid this problem, to increasing down buses and frequency, It would not enough revenue I think. Otherwise, there is no direct bus in this route to go ukkadam bus stand from palladam. So,operate a new buses from palladam to ukkadam semi moffusil basis every one hour frequency(38km, 75 minitues) via laksmi millls. Karanampettai, sulur, ondiputur, sungam by pass road. Stopping service annanagar, kalivelampatti privu, perumpaali, laksmi mills, arakkulam privu, kodangipalayam privu, karanampettai, sulur aero, RVS, sulur, kumaran kottam, ravatoor privu, paappampatti privu, saraswathi hospital, Irugur privu, Ondiputur, singanallur, Ramanathapuram, chintamani and ukkadam.pls analyz and operate the new buses in this route on trial basis…thanks.

Tnstc have operatting the more town buses to village regions for the benifit of village side commuters to go their near city region. Most of the rural service routes are in single service and low frequency. Anybodies have decide to go by bus to village side,they faces some problems like missing the bus and long time waiting for the next bus. For examble, in the SENJERIMALAI to UDUMALAIPET road, MONGIL THOZHUVU PRIVU is the markable junction to go udumalai, veethampatti,arasoor, sulthanpet, kamanaickenpalayam,palladam from there. 4,4A,4(private) town buses operates to go udumalaipet and p10 town operates to palladam as terminal from mongil thozhuvu privu. In this connetivity point, all these buses have not conecection concern.anybody of the kamanaicken palayam or sulthan pet, senjerimalai commuters the want to go udumalai, (p10 operatting route). They change the bus at mongil thozhuvu privu to go udumai if conectivity guarenteed. but, there is no connection concept.the ‘giving and getting’ policy would come among these buses not only there then all the terminus points. I referd the this as oral to palladam tnstc officers and udumalai tnstc officers. yet there is no use.pls consider and study this information to take action….

Irresponsible Behaviour by conductor:
I had a unpleasant experience while travelling in Coimbatore City on the private city bus No: 19G (RVS SVJ) (TN 38 U 1837) from Townhall to Murugan Mills on March23, 2012. On the trip between 10.35 to 10.50. The charge for Town Hall to Murugan Mills is 4Rs but he asks 5Rs, I gave 5rs and got the ticket(I have the ticket with me) . They are collecting 1Re extra from all the passengers. Where 3rs ticket is 4rs, 4rs ticket is 5rs, and 5rs ticket. This Conductor fleece public by charging more than the ticket price under the context of “that is the rate”. And he is not stopping the bus in bus stops. When my stop comes, I called the conductor to stop the bus on murugan mills stop he is simply saying that the bus won’t stop in Murugan Mills Stop. I argued with the conductor to stop the bus in Murugan Mills, He used bad words on me. I was shamed and got depressed while other passengers are staring at me. And he used to stop the bus on next stop Saibaba Kovil. I was hurried to my computer class which starts 11.00 AM by walking 1km (saibaba kovil to Murugan mills). It is a constant scene in most private buses nowadays.I request the RTO authority to take up grievance of this nature and take strict action the buses who operate against the laid down norms and take necessary action regarding this issue so that he will not repeat this mistake again. Also bus owners,please have some code of conduct for the employees to behave properly during their service, it will help the general public.

The arround of coimbatore and tiruppur cities, several town buses are servicing to the village side people and conects those cities. But some town buses have one terminus perfect and another terminus seems poor. For example, UKKADAM to CHANDHIRAPURAM via pappampatti, Route no 77B is operatting. If the commuters are coming to ukkadam, catch other buses they can go anywhere.but in other terminus of chandhirapuram, there is less other bus services in this terminus. The native commuters only of chandhirapuram they can used. Otherwise, if the terminus is KAMANAICKEN PALAYAM to the route 77B, all the commuters may use this bus to go anywhere.(at the kamanaicken palayam terminal, toward to all direction buses available) so, to exdending the terminus to kamanaickenpalayam (5km from Chandhirapuram) would be poweful terminus to the 77B route, the both side terminus would came to perfect. All of the town buses have the above method, the best service aveil to the public..

The tnstc mofussil bus from kinathukadavu to Sulthanpet&Tiruppur(old name is S2) via Vadachittur,Mantrampalayam,Kattampatti,Senjeri malai,Sulthanpet is operatting by Pollachi Branch. The last trip departures at Kinathukkadavu on 8.00 pm till Palladam. From Kinathukkadavu to Kattampatti, more commuters uses this bus. But, from Kattampatti to Palladam 3 or 4 persons only uses this bus to go Palladam. When i travelled by this bus some time i notified that. So, this bus not needed go palladam for few commuters. Because every 7 to 10 minitues frequvancy available at Kattampatti junction to go Palladam. So above few commutters will change the bus at Kattampatti to go Palladam. 30H(Somanur- Ukkadam ,via Madhapur)TN38 N 1436,10A(Somanur- Ukkadam ,via Madhapur)& 40A(somanur-Gandhipuram,via madapur).These buses are mostly like dappa & most of the days,these buses don’t operate in 2nd shift or always coming 1 hour late because of shortage of conductor-driver. so plz arrange conductor-driver for these buses `BUT THIS BRANCH THEY CAN OPERATE SPECIAL BUSES LIKE(karnampettai to karumathampatti,coimbatore to tirchy). Transport officers in karumathampatti Branch concentrate only on operating SLF,LSS,EXPRESS buses and mostly avoid ordinary buses.so change our area buses into EXPRESS or LSS to keep a transport facility for village people.

10E is not at all running through the route railway station to vadavalli.this bus belongs to HO–BR depot.if the bus is not getting good number of passengers through kavundampalayam.please ask them to run the bus through kovilmedu,venkitapuram,saibaba colony,poomarket,nagar mandabam,railwaay station.there where two buses[10E].atleast ask them to leave one bus[10E].please i request TNSTC please please please.

From thrissur to Palani, KSRTC and TNSTC-CBE operates regular buses. Buses originate from either Thrissur/Guruvayoor. I didnt have the timings of those buses. If there is no direct bus to Palani, Then board a Pollachi bus from Thrissur and you can catch a separate bus from Pollachi to Palani. From Palani, SETC operates a new 43 seater UD. It starts from Palani by 7.30 PM. Private buses are also operating buses to Bangalore.

TNSTC-Coimbatore bus starts from Ukkadam at 6.00 AM. SETC buses from SETC bus stand starts at 00.30, 3,30, 13.15, 13.45.

Hello… Please do not board a direct bus to Salem or Erode from Pollachi/Udumalaipettai. All such buses will be put on wait in Tirupur Old bus Stand for atleast 15 to 20 minutes.. So better take a bus from pollachi to tirupur and from there u can catch a bus to Erode or Salem.. Frequency is One in five minutes in all the routes….
